That is awesome! The only change to this version was the switching of the markup from PT to PX. I am not sure if that would actually make the browser render faster or not. If it is, BONUS!

Yes, I also noticed the faster loading. Forgot to mention that in my post above.

Maybe pixels are easier to "digest" than points
Anyway - it's much faster than before, way faster!

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

I too vote my opinion of faster loading.
Also, my sites do look better on my mobile devices.
thanks

Hi Scott,
The only thing I can say something about, are the steps inbetween the pixelcount. From 10 it goes to 13, then to 15 and so on. These steps should be smaller 10, 11, 12, etc. And maybe even lower than 10. For the rest no problems... Faster? I didn't notice. Another remark (an old one): in previous versions of VSD it was possible to open more than one instance of VSD, which made it possible to copy and paste objects from one design to another, which, at least for me, was very handy. Why can't this be done anymore?
Cheers, John

For the font sizes, we found or at least the way we use the software, anything smaller then 9px really was quite difficult to see. From size 10px and up, things were just much clearer. Eventually we may just change the drop down list to a stepper control giving more flexibly. We just didn't have time to do it in this version.
As to multiple instances of VSD running at the same time. We did this mainly for support reasons. People would for whatever reason constantly open their website multiple times with different copies of VSD running and corrupt their website. We had to make this change because of that. Also multiple copies of VSD can eat up your system resources, so limiting it to one copy helps.

I do have a newer version with some more tweaks if anyone wants to test it out. Those who have it now, just re-download the software from the same link to access the latest build.

Scott, Will you resend the link to me. I can't find that email.

Hi Scott,
I found two problems, one big, one small:
1: The size and position of a text box as shown in VSD is different from the size and position of the rendered text in a browser. It is a: shown lower in VSD than what will be rendered, and b: sometimes the rendering is broader than the original textbox. I tried this in Firefox and Chrome.
2: If I use text with 10 pixels in a textbox, then the line of rendered text breaks, no matter how long the VSD textbox is.
I'll make a small example website to show what I mean....

Hi Scott,
I think the problems are interconnected. It only happens with a 10 px text. Here is the example: http://www.jvhulst.nl/coffeecuptest/index.html . You can download the VSD design there as well. The design shows the size and position of the text box correctly.
