In each version of VSD.. When I make a change or addition.. it decides to reload ALL of my mp3's that are already on the server.. that's like 7 songs at 3 megs a piece..

Also it'll decide to reload 4 or 6 picture galleries..

I am a smart guy.. I assume the software is not supposed to do this.. is there a check box I can click to stop this?

When uploading VSD it goes through the paces of looking for has changed, even if it looks though all the pages, is it actually uploading? I don't think so but I could be wrong, it takes about the same amount of time as it would to upload when it's checking your pages, then actually uploads the page that has changed. This is what it did in the previous version. but Like I said I haven't really checked to see it it is actually uploading everything. Notice now that theres a php log file that it looks for while uploading to make sure everything is correct. Yes I'm big winded today, I swallowed my inhaler lol.

WEll in VSD when I go to upload my changes.. I did in menu builder or whatever.. theose damn mp3 files will show up all of a sudden here or there and will start uploading.. I would simply cancel it.. but.. luck is on my side and the mp3's have to upload first before the actual files that I need. get uploaded..

I hope nobody suggests that I maulally upload the files I need.. that would be horrible and detramental to the purpose of VSD

well I was hoping to get a screenshot for ya, but it was to fast, when you click on upload and the first window to pop up says something like it's checking for changes, then it will go thru that process, could be long time depending on the size of your site, then it goes to upload what it finds, so it very well maybe be it's not uploading the MP3's but checking they are in the same location and nothing has changed. The wrong way..which is easier is to make fake gallery pages.. then go into each page and change the embed code..

but.. I rather do it the right way.. hard.. and use the coffee cup so if I want to change a page.. it will be easier in that aspect.. but still fear that my stuff gets reloaded or checked.. or whatever..

I used another FTP client to upload the pics and gallery files ..
VSD doesn't show them

as of now.. I am trying another re-sync..

I am thinking.. chage the code and go drink beer.. or re-do the uploads of 3,000 pics to the site cause VSD doesn't see the files so it can then see the files..

or do I hack VSD and put in the files names so it can see them??

well.. it should not take 15 minutes to check and verify that the mp3's are in the same spot before uploading my changes.

it SHOULD take 15 minutes to reload the mp3's and then upload the changes I made to the site.. which don't have anything to do with mp3's

Should I just remove the mp3's so I can make the changes I need.. well that won't matter cause it'll just reload a random number of galleries I have already loaded onto the site..

Make sure you always use the Flash Add Tool when using any of our Flash products inside of VSD. The check process should be extremely fast depending on your connection. I know I have a Jukebox and Video Player on my test server with about 10 items in each and it takes just a few seconds for me to upload.

Items added manually with the Add Files could take longer.
