If anyone has the solution to this, I need it, please. I'm getting the same error.
I'm using GoDaddy, VSD 5.9.1, Windows XP.
I've had no problems in the past, so wondering why this is happening now?

I think I just responded to your ticket. Try checking passive mode under the advanced settings and then try a test and see if that helps.
All of our development work for VSD is done with Godaddy on a Linux and Windows platform, so it will definitely be compatible.

Hi Scott.
I've tried using passive and not using passive and neither works.

Respond to the support ticket you created and mention that did not work and we will try other things. Also try and figure out what changed on your server, pc or Website. VSD does not auto-update, so something on your computer could have changed, something on your server could have changed or maybe you added something new to your vnu file.

For anyone else who is having the same problem -- All it took was downloading an update to VSD.
I have to congratulate CC on having a great tech support team. They were patient and courteous. I got a call today from them and, while on the phone we discovered that I was using an older buggier version of VSD. He stayed on the phone with me while I downloaded and installed the update and made sure it worked.
I love VSD. I'm just waiting for the shopping cart now.

I m having the exact same problem. A couple of months ago when I created my website on VSD everything was fine, now I tried doing some very simple changes add/delete text and pics and I get the same error message "Error while uploadng". I run Windos Vista Ultimate and use Go Daddy. Contacted Go Daddy and everything is fine on their end, checked/unchecked passive box, did everything discussions suggest wit no success. How do you fix this? What is that update somebody mentioned? I understand the frustration as I have to constantly update my website and I am stuck, and worst of all this damages my business considerably; costs me way more than what the software has given me in return.
Just go to the VSD download page. Check to see if the version listed there is newer than the one you have. If it is, just download and install the newer version. It's what fixed my problem. Good luck.
If the software was working fine a few months ago when you created the Website and then it stopped, something on your computer probably changed. Our software does not auto-update itself, so the version you had today would be the same you had a month ago.
To be safe, make sure you are using the latest version and make sure that any firewalls and anti-virus applications allow VSD to connect through them.

I am using VSD 5.9.4 and I already checked my firewall settings and VSD is checked as an exception so the firewall does not affect it.
I also tried disconnecting the firewall and re-syncing my website and this did not work either.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
