VSD has been working fine for me ever since I started using it (4 months or so). I made a minor change yesterday, and all of a sudden it won't save or upload anymore. Everytime I try to do either, I get a microsoft error message:
"Visual Site Designer Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then you can send or not send the error report.
After I click on one of those, I get the following error:
"The instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.
After I click OK, I get this:
Error running C:Progam Files\CoffeeCup Software/CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer/vsd.exe : child killed: segmentation violation. The application will exit now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The change you made, was that to something within the programme itself? If so, could you try undoing the change?
One thing to make sure of, is that you have the latest version of VSD. Check with the download page. And if you find that there is a newer version available, remember to uninstall the current one and reboot your machine before you install.
If none of these things help, you'll have to contact CC support directly.

I have the same - or a very similar problem - VSD Ver. 5.9.4 - MS Windows XP Pro SP-2 ... 189 GB disk space available ...
When I start VSD, open the website, immediately save the home page, ... but ... anytime I make an update then try to save I get the message "The changes could not be saved". An "OK" response results in the "Save As" window being opened. Changing the name, then selecting "Save" results in the "The changes could not be saved" ... you are now in a loop that never ends until you exit VSD without saving.
Known problem?
Other programs ... such as MS Word ... have no problem saving.
Thanks.

George's issue sounds more like a problem with access/permissions. Doesn't seem like an issue with VSD, but rather the files or folder that's being saved to. I'd make sure you're allowed to save files in that particular folder with any app first.
Anybody figure this out? Everything was fine for a few weeks then all of a sudden I can't upload or preview in VSD.
What changed on your system? Did you install any new software or update any anti-virus or firewall settings? VSD does not auto-update, so the error sounds like something on your pc could have changed.

Wow, "child killed." That's pretty harsh!
Would it be advisable for that user to try un-installing/re-installing VSD? I no longer run XP, but if I were, I'd have given it a shot.

Hi Bif
Has that user tried right clicking on the desktop link and run as admin?
or turning off the UAC?
