Thanks Tom. I was drinking a pop while reading this and it came out my nose. ;)

Hi All,

I just encountered this problem too. I went back in after killing the software and then noticed my homepage wasn't the first page in the list. So I organised it so it was first and then the problem disappeared...

Spooky.

I've encountered the improper argument once. Luckily, it was pretty simple. I was pasting a webpage from one VSD website to another and the page contained links that didn't exist in the second website. Once I corrected or deleted the links, the error message resolved.

Hi everyone.
I encountered the same problem today, trying to open my website in CoffeCup.
I went to forums trying to figure out the solution, but could not find one, so I tried to figure out the answer on my own.

So if you have the same massage displaying when you try to open your website try to:

COPY YOUR WEBSITE FOLDER (example_website) AND YOUR WEBSITE VSD DOCUMENT TO YOUR DESKTOP OR ANY OTHER LOCATION ON YOUR COMPUTER. I copied mine to the desktop.

AFTER, DELETE THE OLD FILES YOU COPIED FROM.

NOW, OPEN THE WEBSITE BY CLICKING ON THE COPIED VSD FILE.

Did it work for you too?

The improper argument still pops up for some users from time to time but most didn't have the latest update. Do you have the latest one?:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I still get it from time to time. One thing that triggers it for me is editing text that was copied/pasted from a different source, much like Jeff's example above. I copied some paragraphs from my previous site onto my new site. Clicked in the text box and  improper argument. Fortunately, hitting escape repeatedly usually gets me out of it. I hit CTRL + S a lot to be on the safe side :D

I too had this message. After looking at your postings here I did something a little different. I too had made a copy page that I planned to edit, including getting ride of some text boxes. Instead of deleting the text in the box, after which I got the message, I just clicked on the whole box (highlighted in blue, instead of red) and deleted that way. Walah! No more message at all and I was able to save everything.

Blessings all.

I've been getting it only SINCE I updated the my VSD software... argh! I've tried what the others here have done but nothing works for me! This is a brand new site I'm trying to build. With my existing sites, when that popped up the OK box actually works, but everytime I attempt to start a new site I end up getting stuck! again, I say, argh!

I would open a support topic. If you can replicate it then CC may be able to find the solution to your problem.:)
