I am sorry you ran into that problem. Our developers are aware of the issue and we are trying to determine what is causing it. Right now all we do know is it is very random. Unfortunately if it is locked right now, the only thing you can do is go into task manager and kill the software. Hopefully your work will still be there when you reopen the software. If not, there is a backup system in the software that we can help you recover an earlier version of the vnu file.

I had this again yesterday while working on a site, and believe it or not after about 30 clicks (a couple of loonnnnnggggg clicks too) the error box disappeared and I was able to save my work. :)
Thought I had this figured out to occur when adding text (red box) and clicking anywhere off the page into the border. Had that happen twice in a row on me, then I tried it on purpose. Improper Error Argument every time. But found this only happens on some sites, but not on others? And again, not every time you happen to click off the page.

I can confirm too that this happened to me when I copied multiple text boxes from another page and pasted it onto my target page. I then moved all those text boxes off to the right so that half of the boxes hung off and into the border.

I then moved and resized each box so that it came back in off the right hand border.

It wan't until I went red to edit the last of my text boxes that the error occured.

I was able to clear the error message, save my work, close VSD and then restart VSD and continue OK.

Good luck bug hunting!

All my improper arguments so far have involved text boxes overlapping other objects (such as a form), but I had a new one the other day. Everything had been just fine, then I clicked Publish and got the Improper Argument :( Since I had just saved the site, I closed VSD then re-opened it and uploaded.

Tim - I've done that too - just keep clicking on it 'til it gives up and goes away

Good news everyone! Our awesome developers were able to track down the bug and we will hopefully be rolling out an update this week.

Thank you everyone for your help in debugging this!

Scott- got the developers working overtime? Glad to hear they have the bug tracked down.
The past two weeks have gone well for updates on my sites. No errors, no improper arguements, everything working as it should. NICE!

I´m having the same problem right now. I just made a lot of progress on my page and have not saved the new changes. I hope I don´t lose my work. :(

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
