Editing the header [ctrl+alt+H] in VSD

Can someone tell me what I should have entered in the "Header HTML" and "Onload Events" in VSD? Is code generated automatically for the header when the files are compiled for upload?

I've got some site analytics code that requires it be inserted between the <body> and </body> tags.

I want to make sure this is the proper location.

Michael,

The header is where you would things that need to be placed in the head such as styles, links to favicons, and meta tags. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_meta.asp is a good location to learn about meta tags. There is a special VSD keyword meta tag tool in the edit menu or ctrl-alt-k will get you there.

For analytics code, click on edit and the last item on the edit menu is for analytic code. You can also get there with ctrl-alt-g

Thanks Bill.
I'm new to SEO but I'd like to figure out how to most effectively use the two edit options: Edit Header and Edit Keywords and Description.

In which case do I use each? I've just completed my site: www.gatewayelectricinc.com. I've added keywords and a description of the site and applied it to all pages.

Should I instead have different keywords for different pages? Additionally should I include a different description for each page?

How should I utilize the Edit Header option. I've read through the link that Bill posted above but not sure how it differs from the keywords. Can someone clear this up for me?

Thanks everyone.

Each page should have it's own unique:-

Title meta tag
Description meta tag
Keywords meta tag

Regarding keywords, not a good idea to use words that are not on the page.
