Ctrl-A Crashes

Greetings everyone.

I use VSD and am loving it. I have found what must be a bug, but I dont know if anyone has posted about it. Here goes...

You can use ctrl-A to select all the objects on your page. This is good. BUT, if you are in a text field actually editing text (red border), and hit ctrl-A to select all the text in the field itself... CRASHOLA... at least on my computer.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I tried the steps and nothing happened. It did not select any text, did not crash, nothing at all. That shortcut seems to be dissabled only at that point. Crl-A works for me on most any other application.

Hmmm... I use ctrl-A all the time too, in almost all windows apps. So when I am editing text in VSD, it was a natural thing to ctrl-A to select all the text in the text box... but it crashes VSD every time for me.

Thanks for taking the time to check.

Scott,

Have you tried uninstalling VSD, rebooting, downloading again, and re-installing?

That may cure your problem if you had a bad download, a bad install, or something else corrupted the program.

It's a known problem in VSD 5.9.4. From my CC Support Request. Of course, I was never able to get shift+end to go to more than just the end of the line; not the entire Text box.

Thanks for your e-mail! The shortcut ctrl+a is used to select all the elements that appear on the selected page, it should not be used to select text. If you want to select the text that is located in a text element (when you have a red border) you can use shift+end keys.

If you have any other questions, just let us know.

Thanks,
