I am working on a site: http://sitebuild.galenswebsite.com
I have a template I use to create new pages that already has all the menu items (jpgs as they are buttons) on the left side with basic page dimension, etc. set up.
It seems that when I create a new page by copying the master template those menu items are copied into new jpgs. In other words, every new page I create adds another set of jpgs for the menu buttons, even though their function and location are exactly the same on each page.
Is there a way to use the same set of generated jpg buttons on each page?
I'm now at over 2000 jpgs. Not all from the menu items, but that's alot!
As a follow up.
I know that as a change on a particular page is made new jpgs can be added if the change is not text. How does one track whether or not all the jpgs in the vsd folder are really still necessary or not? I'd like to clear things out, but short of looking at the source code for each page and jotting down each jpg used, then comparing that with all the jpgs in the vsd folder I wouldn't know what to add to the delete list.
Thanks for your help. This is a great forum.

Creating new pages
In order to have the same menu appearing on all the pages and be able to update it just in one place, you would have to use php includes, ssi includes. or iframes. The first one can't be done in VSD, not sure if you will succeed with one of the other two. Some people say yes, some say no. Since I don't use VSD for my sites (I'm a coder), you'll have to rely on other people adding to my reply...
Ha en riktig god dag!
