I already have a folder uploaded to my web site with 700 images in it, I want to create a link to the index page in that folder from one of the pages in my Visual site designer .If as I am used to doing I try to make a link without all of the web address I get this message one of your pages links to this file but it does not exist, well it does on my web site and I should be able to just link to it as a dynamic link, because one I upload my web site it will be in the some root folder as the folder I am trying to link to

It looks to me as if there is a space between the fleadh and the 2010 (which there shouldn't be). Is that actually a page of content with that name or just a single photo? Either way it should probably have some kind of extension eg html or htm or jpg or whatever.
Try looking at your link again and adjusting those couple of things.

It is a page of content, so as you advised I put html extension and removed the space from fleadh 2010 but now I get another message

So what message comes through now following these changes?

If you actual page is called fleadh2010 then you should give it an extension like this
public_html/images/fleadh2010.html

and not this
public_html/images/fleadh2010/index.html

See if that helps.

The index name is just used for the very first entry page on your site and all other pages should have a unique name of their own. The extension is only literally the dot followed by html like so .html

The sub folder which was created by a skin from Jalbum has an Index page in it. I put what you said in the link but to no avail

So what is the name of your folder with all the images in it?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
