Connection trouble with VSD

Hi I built a website with VSD, had it up and running and haven't been able to work on it for a few weeks. Made some changes and tried uploading, re-syncing, and kept getting error messages. Also tried "test connection" and these are the 2 messages I see:

Error: Cannot execute, not yet connected.

550/3966/public_html/vsd.test/vsd.txt: Not a directory.

During the attempted upload, re-sync,and connection test everything seems to "hang up" unlike what I remember it doing before. It was pretty fast. Now it is several minutes before much of anything happens, even the error messages. I checked with the Host provider and they said everything is fine with the server and my FTP settings were all fine. I even tried deleting the published website via VSD, but that did not help. I received an additional error message saying "Some files could not be deleted...try again later"

Help please, now I have no website up at all and seem to be stuck.

Thanks.

Ended up being a firewall issue...with Windows Firewall. Didn't have the problem before, but maybe recent updates? IDK, but toggled on and off McAfee and Windows firewalls...isolated it to Windows firewall. It effected both Free FTP and VSD on my computer. Was unable to complete the connection to my server. Oh well. I just have to turn off Windows firewall when I want to upoad or re-synch...no biggie. I still love the program. Thanks, Cesar for your help. http://citypizzaandpasta.com/ Still a work in progress, but if you would have told me I could create something like this I would have laughed.

you might try to add your domain or if you are able to even the IP of your server domain to your Firewall settings as trusted and see if that helps too :)

I am having the same problem. I am using the trial version, just downloaded. I am hosted with BlueHost.com. I had always used FrontPage before, but the new hosting service says it has too many problems.

Thanks, Bob

yes, I tried the above recomendations. I am now getting the message "can not create catalog" I am not very well versed on the language of html, or some of the terms used by web design geeks, so I don't have a clue what that means

there's a few posts addressing that problem, I don't know if they have solutions but I would suggest you do a search for "can not create catalog" and I'm sure you'll find the posts on it. Hopefully they will have some solutions for you.

It could be that your host has not given you the permission to create folders. You'll have to ask them.
