Hi all how are you, Ok while I am working on coffeecup visual site designer, this is what happens I use the tool where you can write I then change the color of the writing I have not yet made it into advanced text so the word I have created to connect to the new page is done.

However when I then turn that word into a link that links up with the new page it changes color and puts a underline mark under the word link, I have just made. It does it by it's self, I have made no input changes to it.

This is more of a heads up in regards to a annoying little bug in the software that could be doing this, to fix it I am going to uninstall software and reinstall fresh copy I have also just come across this little annoyance once but will keep everyone posted if it happens again.

( UPDATE ) Ok I uninstalled old version then reinstalled fresh copy, the fresh copy is doing the same thing I mentioned below in first post I request if possible this could be fixed please as this is going to be an annoying hindrance to my work.

also along with this annoying problem Coffeecup visual site designer has also been crashing for no apparent reason I am unsure why though.

Update 2) Ok I have found a way to stop the writing to stop changing it is somewhat annoying.

I can no longer simply write a word change the color then turn it into a link and it stays the same this does not work any more did I mention this is annoying.

when I write a word and turn it in to a link the software changes it on it's own accord but to stop this from happening and still retain control over software, I have to turn the written text into advanced text to keep my settings if i don't do this the software changes it with out my permission.

so far I am doing a system scan for viruses to make sure that a virus is not causing the problem I have also done a system clean & maintenance sweep of system.

I have also got IObit Malware Fighter and Norton 360 these software play nice together they have not caused a problem and Norton 360 Gives Coffeecup Software the 100% thumbs up, good as gold and Coffeecup software is of no concern to IObit Malware Fighter.

Go to settings standard settings for all pages, you need to set your preferences.

Its not a bug but a wonderful design feature giving ultimate control to user

VSD needs to run free of any anti virus, firewalls etc anything on your computer can conflict with it

Uploading switch off your firewall if it keeps crashing.

there is a very nice pdf manual under the help menu

Always good to have a look through the help files when learning something new
VSD will use default link colors and underlines (standard website behavior, not a bug) unless you change them.
As Viv said, you can change these under the Settings > Standard Settings for New Pages. Pick colors that will work well with your site since every text link will use these settings. Also, within VSD, your links will be underlined even if you chose not to have underlines. Not a bug – the lines go away in preview or on the live site.

Don't make yourself crazy, come on in here and ask about things first

I had many problems with Norton interfering with my software (not just CC). The last straw was not being able to open email attachments because of it. Norton was like having a virus rather than preventing them

I set my preferences and I also clicked on all 4 options on (select which types of links you do not want to be underlined) I clicked on all 4 and it does nothing!.

Also I have had Norton 360 running along side this software for ages to be precise at least 2 years without any problems , This underlining changing the word color HAS ONLY JUST STARTED I have not once even played with the standard settings until now standard settings does nothing!.

Also my links that are words are all color coated ranging from Green,blue,yellow etc I have a lot of them, the standard settings in VSD changes the color scheme I have chosen for my website I should not have to work around the software the software should do as it's told.

This wonderful design feature giving ultimate control to user is a hindrance and is annoying I had not used those standard settings once since I started using VSD this changes how I want my website displayed I don't want these settings ether while I am working on my website or it is on the net, I ALSO NEED TO SEE WHAT MY LINKS LOOK LIKE EACH TIME BEFORE I PUBLISH AN UPDATED VERSION OF MY WEBSITE this software is not letting me see what they look like because it changes the my links to what ever it wants.

I'm sorry your having issues with the program but the software doesn't make any changes to your site until you click on an option within the app to do so.
If you look inside the Visual Site Designer folder you will find the Backups folder that contains all the saves of your site. You can use these to go back to a previous version of your site if you didn't make a backup copy before making major changes.

reverting to a older version of my website does not resolve the problem but instead makes more work for myself as I have to re do what has been lost and does not resolve the issue I am having now.

THE STANDARD SETTINGS DO NOT WORK i HAVE CLICK ON ALL 4 OPTIONS TO NOT PERMIT VSD TO UNDERLINE MY WORD LINKS, IT IS NOT WORKING SO SOMTHING IS WRONG WITH THE SOFTWARE i HAVE UNINSTALLED IT THEN REINSTALLED THE SOFTWARE AND IT IS STILL CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEM i HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE!
