I am trying to change the Color of my links from blue as they don't look right in blue on the site i have built, Does anybody know how to change the color of the text in the links when i go to Object Properties changing the color of the text does not get rid of the blue link text. Any help would be appreciated?

Click on "Settings" then "Standard Settings For New Pages".
Link Colors are set in the lower left.
This is a global setting so it will affect every page.
If you only want a different color on one page use the advanced text feature.
