I looked around but couldnt find anyone with a similar problem.

it starts at building the website on your computer then the making connection box come up, then the sending website box comes up but gets stuck on home and then after a minute or so it says an error accured during uploading. I have the lastes version of VSD and all the paths are right, I just dont understand. Im using dot5 hosting if that help at all.

I'm not sure if I understand where the problem is, do you have issues all along from making the website to the uploading?

If it's only the upload part, are you able to test the connection you have set up? Please let us know a bit more, then we'll try to hold your hand through the process ;)

You didn't say if you had been testing the connection before upload...

Have you tried connecting to your server using some other FTP client? If you can connect, are you able to upload a file?

Here is the login screen that you have in VSD (the details are for someone else I was helping):

The details for FTP server, username and password should have been given to you from the hosting company you are using. So the question often is what you feed into the WWW folder slot. Try leaving it blank. If that doesn't work, try public_html, www or www_docs. I hope one of these alternatives will solve your problem.

Test the connection before trying to upload.
There is a log that allows you to view the details.
That log will give you clues or you can copy then paste
the log so we can help you.

Good luck

If if STARTS to upload then you know that the FTP info is correct. You're getting an error in the middle of the upload, which means that something is taking place somewhere along the lines to interrupt the connection.

I have had this happen to me many times, and I can offer you some advice. Don't look for the "hole" in the connection, you may never find it. Simply try re-uploading the site again using a different internet connection. Make sure all firewall and virus softwares are turned off, and when you upload hit "re-sync website."

Try this at least three times. Let us know what happens.
