Last straw question, and I know this is probably a very dumb question. I just right clicked on my website and went to properties. It shows as an HTTP protocol.

I know this probably has no difference; but, while I am reasonably computer literate, I am a total idiot on this stuff. That's why I really like the Visual Site Design software.

maybe you are indeed uploading to your hosting but to another folder inside your folder
double check everything !

Justr a suggestion, but i once had a similar problem, and it came down to user error (ME)

why not make sure you have set to passive mode, and switch off your firewall temporarily

then upload to a new folder entirely

ie instead of public_html/yourhomepage

do instead public_html/yourhomepage2

go and check if it there, if it works ok erase the original with free ftp, and the re install from scratch again.

One last question before I go do the ticket route --and thank you all. Yes, I am fairly certain it is user error, but............

In using Free FTP, my results show as follows:

"1 * ftp://salvagewarehouse.biz Done"
"1 "Salvage Warehouse VNU failed (550) Access is Denied"

The first item is my website; the second is website creation file (for lack of a better term)

I have no idea why access would be denied and why denied.

Last question, I promise. Then I will go do the ticket route.

I should add that my service provider, who I've always loved and has been extremely helpful in the past, has been sold and I no longer get the personal service I had. I know that's a little off topic, but techs, although trying, keep saying that they have little experience with web hosting issues.

Thank you all so very much.

Last thing: Can someone kindly tell me how to put in a support ticket request or (not sure of correct term).

Hi Clyda,
Click the World-Class Support button (top menu) and then choose Your Support Room. You'll find a place to type in your request. Please let us know what you find out - you never know when someone else will have the same problem! :D

Clyda with whom are you hosted with?
If you'd like you can email the info your using and I will try to connect or I can give you some info to a server I'm not using as a test.

Okay, promise --I hope --one final question/observation. Because it keeps saying it's uploaded, I have never gone to "Test connection". When I do so, there is no way to do it. All information is blanked out, i.e. it does not open up the button for "Test".

Advice again, please. And, again, thank you all so very much.

Clyda when you click on test, is your site listed in the drop down window?

Problem is that I cannot click on test. It is faded out and will not allow button to be clicked on. Does that make sense. In other words, it does not allow me to use the test function. It brings up the box but does not allow access to the buttons.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
