No, it was opening normally before this. I don't have Directftp, but I do have Filezilla. I tried to retrieve one of the saved VNU files on the server, and downloaded it to my desktop - same result.

The only thing I changed is i changed my desktop from 96 dpi to 120 dpi. That shouldn't have made this happen though.

I'm beginning to think I may have to start over from scratch to get this right.

Nah!
can be fixed using direct ftp or notepad ( the quick way ) or you can remove those 2 buttons and re-add them save it -then using filezilla-directFTP-CuteFTP-whatever and upload your website that way. If you noticed in the previous thread that the source was missing the image name which is Home.jpg well you can easily fix that using direct ftp because with that great program you can edit your pages on the spot without uploading anything.

and if you could upload using the built-in ftp in VSD is another and yet best way to upload your work and wouldn't have half the hassles you have now IMO. lol

Yeah, but how can I do that if the VNU file keeps opening this way?

Do a save as from the file menu, but don't change the name! see if that helps-but if it's asking you this when opening locally just find the images it asks for again is all I can say , I have never had this problem-Usually an image was moved from the original location when it was inserted into VSD the first time. so you may have to locate one image and the rest wil fall into place or you'll need to find all.

No luck. I found the missing images, re-saved as the save filename. When I re-open, I'm back to square one.

Double clicking on the vnu file should open it as it was saved! I would say download your site but you have no backup vnu as you dont use VSD to upload, damn!
I'm trying to get mine to do the same and can't! finding the files always fixes it.
Next best thing is either putting in a support ticket and allow them access to your personal info and see what's going on Robert, or opening your website folder and download your files folder to that folder along with all the files, replacing whats there now, this can be done-although you may need to find your images again like before, or create a new site, which ever seems easier for you, I am stumped.

Thanks Bruzer. I have a ticket in with Support, to see if they know what is happening. As for rebuilding the site, I will probably have to. I just doubt that I will be using VSD. After this fiasco, I don't have a lot of confidence in it.

I really appreciate all of your help though, and taking your valuable time to help a novice.

Robert VSD is really dependable, but alot of the problem is location of files and not being able to upload in VSD, I believe had you beed able to do this , all this would not have happened. Like naming your website with number instead of just dbband or something. just my opinion but it's still the best WYSIWYG program out there for the price . I wish you'd reconsider.
Good Luck.

Bruzer,

I received an answer from Support, which got most of the problems fixed. I had moved the files into a new folder. That's what did it. Now, I still have two "Home" buttons that don't work. I have re-inserted the images, copy/pasted the working images, made sure they were linked to the Home page - still no luck. What is really weird is that in Chrome, the Home buttons just show an empty box, but in Firefox, they don't show at all!

Mystifying.
