Hi Folks.

I'm disappointed that this never seemd to get resolved. Files and themes used in tutorials should be accessible to those starting out with VSD (or any other application for that matter), otherwise new customers will become cynical and may even give up on CC - life should be made as easy as possible for them.

Most unlike CC not to sort something like this out - what did the "word nerd" have to say (Scott's remark in http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/designe … al-themes/)

I'm actually putting my money on the idea that the tutorial was written quite some time ago, and the theme has since been removed and hence why it's no longer jiving with the tutorial. I would concur with everyone here, the theme in the tutorial should definitely jive with the themes available.

I think you're right Jo Ann. It would be great to get a hold of the correct theme and files though - I wonder if anyone still has copies?

Love your use of the word "jive" (being a bit of a fan of that form of dance). A bit of an aside, but check this out for a little light relief -

Reckon I might just have a think about some screen capture videos for VSD tutorials ...

Have a great new year celebration,

This seems to remain unresolved. I hate to say it, but there's something wrong with a tutorial that relies on a template that is no longer available, and what's more, if the tutorial was written using an old template, then the chances are that the tutorial doesn't reflect the current state of the software either. And as far as I can see, the tutorial IS the manual for the product.
I'm not dumb, and I am computer savvy, but I'm not at all comfortable with web design (that's why I bought visual design software). I know you guys and gals are around to answer questions, but I guess I was hoping for more usable documentation and orientation.

I was told that they have the forums to make up for or take the place of having good up to date software instructions or something to that effect to the best of my recollection

if you go to :: HELP > help (pdf) theres the manual.
And yes it is an old template
I just checked and it seems up to date with all the newly added functions
As the templates (dozens of them) are all different, your always going to have a template that your not using in the instructions, regardless of its age.
I actually tried the template in tutorial years ago, that template wont even import to this version of VSD i dont think
I am NOT computer savy, so learning VSD was a challenge, but i also have a learning issue with manuals, i never read them, rather learn by trial and error. and then go to the manual for confirmation, or to see if i missed anything.
My websites in signature therefore are what a total novice learned to do from the pdf, and trial and error
Personally that was the fun part for me, 3 years on i am still finding new tricks to utilise what CC produced as a tool, which in the hands of different people is capable of producing entirely different results.

Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

My second day with VSD.
I guess I don't understand why the usually responsive CC people did not deal with this issue and supply us with Ezra Pound or change the tutorial!
Did I miss something?
