Site name: http://dozwm.net/
host company: Hostway
pc type: windows vista home premium
vsd version: 5.9.4
error messsages: unable to establish connection
user since: Sept of 2008

on January 1st i was able to upload my site
on January 4th i am not able to upload my site

nothing have changed and i have changed nothing so why the switch up?

inspite of nothing changing between the 1st to the 4th, this is what i have done so far:
  • i have searched these forums; opened 20 some odd threads and tried every single piece of advice given, old and new.
  • i've also read up at hostways user info and i have every exact thing correct.
  • i tried downloading a patch zip file link from a thread
  • i've ran the 'register.exe' file
  • i've tried every version of FTP, user name, password and WWW fields
  • i've tried unchecking/checking the passive checkbox
  • i've rebooted
  • i've turned on and off the firewall (I use Windows One Care)
  • when i've tested the connection and resynced the site i get the same error message or a blank un-usable screen
  • i've run the site as administrator

i've tried all these "ways" in all variations and just can't do it.

i only have the weekends to work on this and i know that CCS is closed at night when i get home (ya'll close on the weekend too?).

me thinks VSD doesn't like me... but... :(

i'm willing to try anything else. this may be a long thread because as you all respond i can only test your suggestions when i get home at night from work. i can respond to the thread via work and anwser yes and no to suggestions you all throw out if i've tried them or not.

if there is anything new i have missed, holla!

in the mean time i'm going to shut my computer down for a few hours and see if even that may work.
