I have VSD 6. Build 6 on my laptop and it works fine.
I installed VSD 6. Build 6 on my desktop and using the same exact Server settings as I have on my laptop VSD will not connect. I get...

"Testing and server logon...ERROR
Invalid username or password reported by server.

220 Microsoft FTP Service
331 Password required for rdkgsr
530 User cannot log in.

I've already contacted GoDaddy and everything is good on their end. While on the phone with them I ran VSD on my laptop and was able to connect with them.
Could not connect VSD on my desktop. I've turned off all firewalls and anti virus. I've enabled the
passive on the advance tab, I've disabled it.

5. What specific steps have you taken to create this issue?:
Installed VSD onto my desktop. Used exact same settings as used on my VSD laptop, which works fine. Turned off firewall and anti virus, contacted godaddy to insure good on that end, it's good.

6. Does it occur every time?:
This problem occurs everytime.

7. Can you recreate the issue on another computer?: I cannot recreate this problem on any my other computer.

Hiya Coyote,

Have you tried the passive setting at all to see if that works?

I think he means he had a comma in the connection address instead of a period... that's how I read it anyways lol

because it was an addon domain, in the address i had to include .co.uk

Ie public_html/handmade-by-me.co,uk/shop1/

easy to spot here, but not when its in that small narrow box where you type it in

My usual amateur errors, made loads of them getting this far

What is the difference between the two computers? Is it the same operating system on both computers? Any anti-virus programs installed?

Have you got any firewalls or anti virus programmes that stop the connection? Try turning such software off and see if you get connected. Those progs. are likely to have settings where you have to allow VSD to get through.
