I addeda button link to my home page, www.royalephoenix.com "2006 Beaver Marquis for Sale"
and the button has a grey background instead of a clear one like in VSD. How do I make it clear on the web site as well?

Thanks

If you make the background color black it will appear to have a transparent background because of being in a black area

The easiest way to do it would be to use the Shape tool in VSD (it has that exact shape). ;)

If you use a different program to create your badge, save it as a PNG with a transparent background. PNG files will appear to have a black background, but that's just how VSD displays the transparent areas – they look fine in preview and live.

JPGs don't support transparencies, so you would need to make the bkgrnd color the same as the page color it's going on.

The button is created in VSD. In VSD, the button has a clear background.
The uploaded image does not. (I don't even see where to change the bg color of the image in the object properties)

Thanks guys, but I know I could go to the extra work of making the button in a different program and save it as a PNG or GIF, But I shouldn't have to do that. I want VSD to work as intended. VSD is supposed to be a "What you see is what you get" editor. So, I don't have a background in the editor, therefore I shouldn't have one when uploaded. ;)

If this isn't something I am doing wrong then I will open a support ticket.

Move your button image a little farther away from the notepad image.:)

OK, tried it all over the page, same thing. Don't think that was it.

Now it's overlapping your text box. Try moving it to a spot that doesn't overlap anything. I see part of the problem. VSD is creating a huge image of your page.

The background is an image, Overlap isn't the problem.
As you can see here, this is a screen shot of the page in VSD.

As you can see, the button has a clear bg, no grey square. If this is how it looks in VSD, then this is how it should look after uploading. Also you can see the note pad PNG files to the right. These images DO have a clear background in the image but show as black in VSD. However they are clear on the web site.

I feel that if the image has a clear bg than it should be clear in VSD, and if it doesn't than it shouldn't be clear in VSD and what I see should be what I get.
