Animation Studio

I created a simple slideshow using Animation Studio. I cannot see any method for inserting the resulting data into Visual Site Designer. Neither the 'Add HTML' process nor the 'Add a CoffeeCup Flash Object' have provided a means of attaching my slideshow. I created an html file using the 'Save As' option, but this did not work (I included a link to the images that I used). When I used the 'Export to Slide PNG Show', the program did not create a XML file which apparently is necessary. Any assistance that you can offer will be greatly appreciated ... I realize that it is not possible to view code in Visual Site Designer, but such an option would be very useful.

After pasting in the markup, you need to include the files through the Edit Menu > Add Files. Make sure to create the exact same directory structure that Animation Studio produces.

Thank you for the prompt reply, however, I had already tried what you suggested with no result. I would be grateful if you could give me a step by step procedure to follow. What do I do after I have created the Animation Studio HTML file after the 'Export' procedure of the slide show?

The process is quite simple.

1. Paste in the markup using HTML Tool.
2. Go to Edit Menu > Add Files. Make sure to create the exact same directory structure that Animation Studio produces.
3. Publish.

I still cannot get Animation Studio to run the slide show. I assume that the files that you are referring to are the images that were used to create the slide show. The path to the html file is as follows: E:\Victoria_MG_Club\Index_Page\Animation_Studio\Animation_Studio\Animation_Studio_(Left)_exported\Animation_Studio_(Left).html. The path to the images included in the slide show is as follows: E:\Victoria_MG_Club\Index_Page\Animation_Studio\Animation_Studio\Animation_Studio_(Left)_exported\images\'various jpg files. Should the images be placed somewhere else? I also assumed that the markup that you refer to is the html code that was created by the export procedure. Do you need any other information that might help resolve the problem? Thank you for your attention to this situation.

I think that it might be useful if I gave you some history. I created a web site (victoriamgclub.ca) for the car club that I joined many years ago. At the time I used the Macromedia version of Dreamweaver. Eventually Adobe bought out Dreamweaver and I then updated the web site using Dreamweaver CS4. However, I never was happy with the sometimes erractic nature of Dreamweaver. The only reliable components on the site were those that I created using CoffeeCup modules … such as CoffeeCup GIF Animator, CoffeeCup Menu Builder and CoffeeCup Photo Gallery. I also have purchased several of your products which I hope to use in the design of a new web site for the car club.

Please check out the victoriamgclub.ca web site … this will give you an idea as to what I am attempting to do using CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer. I purchased this product because I did not want to go back to designing a web site using code. It has been too long since I worked with code and I don't have the time or the energy to make the effort. Visual Site Designer seemed to be an ideal alternative and if things had worked out, I would have been very happy with the process!! … it appears to be an excellent compromise.

Hi David. I took a look at your site and it should be rather easy to re-create that site using Visual Site Designer. A few things I noticed ... try not to have 'spaces' in your file names. Some browsers and servers will not accept a file name with a space. Best to use an 'underscore' or 'hyphen' instead of a space. Also, FLASH is fading fast. You should try and not have any FLASH objects. While they do look cool and sometimes have a place, they will not show up on most Apple devices ( iphones, ipads, etc...). If you are still having trouble with the Animation Studio ( and it does work well ) there are other options you can check out. Take a look here at Eric's page ( http://progrower.coffeecup.com/ ). Look at the options under 'Slide Shows' and see if any of those work for you. His site shows you what files you need and usually how to integrate with VSD.

If none of that works for you, then publish your VSD site with the Animation Studio slide show to your CoffeeCup S-Drive and post the link here. There are many here that can look at the source and your files and see what might be going wrong.

Let us know if you still need more help or information.
