Adding navigation links in VSD
My question concerns the navigation links which are normally found along the top of the page or down the side of the page. In my website it is at times necessary to add an additional link or to remove a link - there are currently 9 which never change and 2 which may or may not appear.
In Frontpage, my previous software, it was necessary to change each page individually as I did not use Shared Borders. But, because all the links were on a column of a table, it was very straightforward to update the Home page, copy the navigation column from the Home page then, for each of the other pages, simply select the navigation column and paste. This was very straightforward.
I am wondering what would be the best method in VSD. Do you have any suggestions other than adding the new links separately to each page?

Just about the same thing. I would copy the data that you want to appear on the other pages then goto those pages and select the old data then right click and select delete. Then right click and select paste and VSD will put the data in the same position that it was in on the original page that you copied it from.

Eric,
I was a bit worried about the fact that all the links were separate objects as opposed to belonging to one navigation object. But, after making the change in the Home page, I selected all the links by holding down the shift key and selecting one link at a time. Right click copy then allowed me to copy the whole lot.
I then did another multiple select in one of the other pages, followed by right click delete then right click paste as suggested by you.
It worked a treat! Preview also worked fine
Thanks for your help
John

Remember you don't have to click on each one if you click and hold then mouse drag over all the objects it will select them all and it's way faster.

Hi Eric,
I initially ran into problems with your suggestion because I clicked on the first object then found that dragging merely resulted in moving that object.
When I came to my senses, I clicked outside of the first object then dragged the resultant rectangular shape over all the link objects which ended up all selected - very quick as you said.
Thanks again
John
