I use VSD for my daughter’s website; she wants me to add a music player and a banner to her website (codes attached). How do I achieve this?

Hi Phil,
you add these codes using the html tool! but I have to say looking at the banner code to me a width of 1 and height of 1 isn't going to show much. Please double check the coding to see if it's correct. All I get is a "this widget is temporarily offline" :)

Same with the music one!

Hi Bruzer

Thanks for the response; the banner code is for a link so the size maybe right. I know that the coding needs the members id installed which how is just zeros I will correct this.

Where do I insert these codes using the html tool?

Hi Phil,
select the html tool in VSD and draw a box - place the code in the "body html tab". Note the size of the banner is 527x641 so make the box you draw that size. is that what your asking?
My example:

Thanks again,

I’m only working on the music player for now. I used the html tool (screen shot attached) saved in VSD then pasted the code (correct code attached) into the index file using Direct FTP and uploaded to server. The player appears to work good on the website http://www.jenleigh.com except that the player is at the bottom center of the page. It is where I want it in VSD. How do I move it up?

Hi Phil,
the best way is to add the code as you have done using the html tool as you have then save. Once saved upload using the built-in ftp. Just using direct ftp and adding the code doesn't give it the style it would normally use unless you get into coding. So now after you have added and saved, then using direct ftp upload just the page you added the code to from your website folder. see if that helps you. :)
Well seems you did that!
I noticed you have 2 codes for the music player, and only the 1 shows up. you could copy the bottom code in place of the top code between the <div class="Object326">code here</div>
that will also move the player that shows up where you want it

Hi Bruzer,
I have not been using the built-in ftp for quite awhile because it started deleting random files on the server. I save my changes in VSD then upload the index file and all associated files to the server using direct ftp. I guess this is part of the problem. I really would like to get VSD working properly it sure would make things a lot less frustrating, any suggestions to a fix?

Hi Phil,
my suggestion is use the built-in ftp like before. it usually doesn't delete anything without asking if you want to delete, always choose "no" even if you did delete something, you can manually remove the file or image using direct ftp if you need to.
Well it looks like the code wasn't placed on the page incorrectly? I don't know what the first coding goes to but I would replace that code with the code you attached, That will place the player where you want it.
see what I mean here:

Hey Phil,
The best thing to do is remove the html box you have on the homepage, and make a new one using the correct coding. and upload using the built-in ftp. The above fix was a quick fix, but you would still have the same problem with the next upload, sorry for that. Just when you upload and it says anything about deleting anything on your server select the no option, and do you want to continue say yes option.
I steered you wrong there fella sorry. (steered lol)

Hi again Bruzer,

Things I’ve done:

I removed what appeared to be a duplicate code for the music player; actually I removed all codes for the music player in hopes of getting a fresh start.

I replaced the html box and used the same coding that was in the last attachment I sent (codes.txt), saved and uploaded using the built-in ftp, I didn’t use direct ftp at all this time.

Now the music player does not show up at all.

I am lost.

Phil
