If you are using Windows XP, Vista or 7,8 and get the "Markup Data Folder does not exist!" error when you try to open the HTML Editor, you may have improperly set permissions for the Windows user account you are currently using. Have no fear—we can help! Follow these steps to correct the problem:

IT IS IMPORTANT TO USE THE CORRECT LIBRARY, OR YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES. IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHICH ONE YOU NEED, PLEASE OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET.

For HTML Editor 12.5 or higher:

  1. Make sure the HTML Editor is closed.
  2. Download the markup library here.
  3. Extract the contents of this folder.
  4. If you are a Windows 10, 8, 7 or Vista user, move the "Markup" folder to this location: C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup HTML Editor

Once you've completed these steps, the HTML Editor should open normally.

For HTML Editor 12.0 or lower:

  1. Make sure the HTML Editor is closed.
  2. If you are using version 12.0 (or older), download the Markup library here.
  3. Extract the contents of this folder.
  4. If you are a Windows 10, 8, 7 or Vista user, move the "Markup" folder to this location: C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\CoffeeCup Software\CoffeeCup HTML Editor

Once you've completed these steps, the HTML Editor should open normally.
