When you receive this error, it means that the version of MFC42.dll on your computer is older than the one installed with the program. For whatever reason, the file is not being updated during the install. Not to worry, though; this problem is fairly easily fixed:

  1. Uninstall HTML Editor from your computer.
  2. Do a search for MFC42.dll on your computer, and then rename it. What you decide to call it doesn't matter; what you're doing here is, in essence, removing the file with the name MFC42.dll so that when you reinstall HTML Editor, it can install the newest version of the file.
  3. Download the latest version of the HTML Editor from your My Products page.
  4. Install the HTML Editor.

If this doesn't work, you may need to install a patch from Microsoft from this link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;259403.
