Bio: I came to America from the jungles of the Phillappines after the war with the help of a Catholic chaplin
My mother and I traveled by a liberty ship but encontered a hurricane off the coast of Oregon. My mother, Lydia, went on the ships main deck after the captain told everone to put on life vests. She prayed and and the storm
subsided but the captain asked her if she was a witch.
I played football for Bellarmine High' and received a series of football scholarships but selected U. of Washington.
Highlight of that choice was defeating Wisconsin 44 to 8 in the Rose Bowl.
Completed college with a degree in Physics and Mathematics at Western Washington University. During my stay
at Western, I organized a musical in supposrt of an indian family who had a fire in their home. The event was verry
successful and we raised enough money to completely refurnish and rebuild damaged areas. sThis was completed by college students during spring break I noticed that ladies at the college did not have any sport activities
so with a staff of 5 guys we had a ladies event in the Olympics format. To promote it we said that
Mickelos Phydipadies would bring the torch from Greece and whoever came closest to the time of arrival would receive a dinner for 2 from one of the best rest
aurants in Bellingham. We had one of the students dressed in Greek attire and a police escort to campus. At the last moment one of our staff members informed me that the Governor was in town for a political event. We were able to convince the governor to come by police escort to campus
and welcome the greek to campus. The event went well, gals had a great time, guys got to chaise a gressed pig.
But the irony came when I was standing in the crowd and one of the guys asked me how I was able to convince
Mickelos to come all the way from Greece because it must be true since the governor was here.
