I am a volunteer (novice) Webmaster for a Classic Car Club of about 200 members; there are a couple of pages on the site that require password protection. Before I download the trial version I would like to ask a couple of questions.
What is the period of the trial?
Are there any options for the type of password , for instance could I use a members email address as a login and his membership number as the password or am I limited to just the password.
Thanks for your assistance

Are you looking at Website Access Manager? If so I think it's 30 days for the trial. If anybody knows different please correct. Even if it's not it should do what your looking for. Give it a try you have nothing to lose. :)

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Well, I have downloaded the Password Wizard and have challenge for anybody interested.
the website is http://www.tccv.net/
On the left there is a column of links; I would like to restrict two of those links to a "members area"
(Index of Technical articles and Monthly Magazine) protected by a password to avoid having to use a p/w to enter each one.
Could any one coach me? ( I said I was a novice)

It's a long time since I used Password Wizzard, but I think I would put the pages you want to protect into a folder of their own and set the folder to be protected.

BUT, it is possible to bypass the login if someone bookmarks the pages, then they will be able to open them without having to log in. So my advice would be: Don't keep anything sensitive in that folder. If you need a better and safer protection, then use the programme Access Manager, that Eric suggested.

This is a page where you can compare the two programmes: http://www.coffeecup.com/password-wizard/

I've used CC's Website Access Manager successfully several times for various tests of my site. It's very easy to use and I believe it has all the flexibility you indicated for username/logins and passwords for every individual user. I'd suggest you download the trial and play with it to make sure.

Please let us know how you're coming along, and if you have other questions.
