Can I edit an existing site with...

Hi, I'm a newbie. I just found this product online a few minutes ago, so please bear with my ignorance.
I'm doing some marketing for a client with a convoluted website and we're not getting the help we'd like from the client's web hosting company.
I know a little about HTML, and CSS, I've been using DreamWeaver for a few years, and I'm pretty good with Photoshop. I also use WordPress and Adobe Contribute regularly.
The problem is, this particular domain has dynamically generated content. All the pages are generated using .php source code packed with .CSS and javascript and linked to a database. I've had an IT professional who does web hosting on the side look at it and even he couldn't sort it out.
So..since we're not getting help from the web designer, we're considering starting from scratch and trying to rebuild or edit the domain. Can I use Web Editor or HTML editor to edit the existing site or pages?
Or would I have to create a completely new domain that simply looks like the existing site?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

You could possibly copy the source code of the final displayed page and use that as your base to rebuild with static content. If this is a ground up redo I would take a look at RLM and the HTML editor. These to products will allow you to get your site rebuilt and be up to the latest design standards by being responsive. They both have fully functional trial versions.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I use RLM and HTML Editor with dynamic content most of the time. It's not that hard if you know a bit of PHP. Let me know if I can help.

You could use some software to download the static version of the dynamic site, such as httrack http://www.httrack.com/

Then you can edit and update using html editor

Thanks Brian, Eric, and Chris.
I'll try starting from a downloaded dynamic HTML page and see if I can edit it with one the trial version of HTML Editor.
BTW, does anyone know if Google's new Web Designer app is compatible with HTML Editor or Web Editor. One of the things I'd like to change is the flash animation on the home page. It's invisible on iphones (and I guess all Apple devices).

Don't know much about Google's web design app, but it is possible to decompile a flash swf file and pick out the original images. I've done that successfully with Trillix. It costs a bit, maybe there are free decompilers out there, I don't know.

Google's Swiffy will convert flash to html5 as long as it is not too complex. https://www.google.com/doubleclick/studio/swiffy/

...and another thing. I've downloaded and installed the free trial version of HTML Editor. I would like to do the same with the Web Editor, but when I download the free trial, all I get is a .dmg file that can't be executed. Is the download damaged, or is there a license limit of some kind?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
