Displaying Large Graphics - Post ID...
Hi -
I am setting up a site to help friends trying to sell an amazing property in Southern Spain. One of the pages will relate to the floor-plans of the ground and first floors.
Now, I can just put a graphic on the page, of course, but these are quite detailed, and what I would really like to do is to allow users to run a 'magnifying glass' over the plan and see an enlarged image. Alternatively, is there any neat and tidy way of displaying a large image and letting people range around it rather than just using the scroll bars?
Any ideas much appreciated!
Phil

you could have the original large image at 72dpi with little magnifying glasses on them, and when someone clicks on the mag a larger more detailed image of that area loads.
most of this can be done with image mapper, and possibly lightbox2.
just an idea.

Have a look at this page. Save the demo page to get the jquery plugin files.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
The solution is Zoomify. It does just what you want. www.zoomify.com
An example here: http://www.johnvanhulst.com/zoom/ Drag the slider and drag your mouse over the map. This is a part of www.kunstmonument.nl (but as it is all Dutch.... :-))
