S-Drive is more then just hosting and we really don't want to call it that either as it does so much more. Over the upcoming weeks we will be releasing a lot of information on S-Drive and explaining what it is and how it works. For now, check out http://www.coffeecup.com/sdrive/

It is über cool thought. ;)

I checked it out, but unfortunately, it says very little about what it is and what it does. If it is going to help me with my selection of a host (or is a host itself) then I guess I am going to have to wait!!

Scott, 2012 is just around the corner!!! ya'll better hurry!! (Im impatient, can't ya tell??)

Thanks,
Steve

Steven from what i have learnt playing with it so far, its an updated version of VSD with many extra's

The ftp is unique, had it been around when i started i would have more hair left that now

Apparently (Scott will correct me if i am wrong) sccp will work with it as well in time.

At that point your 50 or so products plus home pages etc will be ideally suited

Why not try a free hosting with someone like http://www.freevirtualservers.com/ to test your site while waiting

Not in my opinion ideal for a proper selling hosting but good for testing

OOHHH!! FREE, I like free!!

It is in the UK, will that be a problem? How about support? There phone number is 0800 instead of 1-800, I woulder if it is still toll free?

They have a $16.11 (after pound conversion) set up fee and it is $16.11 per year for your domain name (unless you already have one). So not perfectly free but pretty darn close!!

Has anyone actually used this service? Or one like it in the USA??

Steven being in uk is not a problem (I am In Uk Hence i picked that one) BUT there are lots of FREE us ones as well

Usually £10.00 set up fee, but there are some totally free

If you want a 5 year hosting for about £85.00 (£17.00 per year) try 60 month option on justhost.com but once you have selected option and entered all your details use the X top right of your screen to close the page

If your lucky a virtual sales assistant will offer you a 50% discount

its not 50% off the visible price but it does come out to about £85.00 with a free domain for life (check amount before paying)

I could be cheeky and tell u how to pay me £30.00 comission as well, but thats getting too cheeky

I have been using GoDaddy for several years now for everything. I have one space that I've put 5-6 different web sites on. I think their prices are reasonable, too. What I don't like, however, is that their pages are too cluttered with trying to sell you things that you don't need. You have to be careful or you will buy (pay for) an email account that is really free with the domain name, etc. It's also a little confusing sometimes on how to set things up - but part of that could be me, not remembering how to do something. Still their customer service is great. They actually called me once! Their servers are always up and fast, and they have all the extras anyone could want. (Most of which I don't use). So in spite of the negatives, I am sticking with them, because I have had some really bad experiences with some other hosts.

Has anyone ever tried or considered, Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting? PC Mag rated them editor's choice award. They seem to have a pretty good setup, and offer php, perl, mysql, etc. Decent monthly fee and their phone support is helpful as well.

It's just basic web hosting services that can be found on most any basic hosting plans. Yahoo and GoDaddy are recognizable names but that doesn't mean their hosting is special. For most people they work out fine, but so would any other hosting.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
