Has anyone ever used paint.net image manipulation software?

How does it perform? I am thinking about downloading it, it's free!

I tried it, but it didn't seem to have much in the way of image manipulation features. GIMP, also free, would be better.

If you can locate MS Digital Image, it is wonderfully easy and very powerful. Too bad MS no longer markets it. Layered developement is very easy to use.
I have done nearly anything in DI that can be done in Elements, Paint Shop Pro etc. The learning curve is far easier in my opinion.

I was a gimp attic for a while, but these days I used paid software. There's some on the market that is very resonable and functional.
