Merry Christmas

Not to hog the thread, but since I'm getting sooo much attention here, the greatest blessing this year was the chance to work with a program to help the homeless. Many homeless work or have sources of funding, but can afford the deposits/rent.

It's build on a very simple concept:

-Help to connect them support systems.

-Find sources of funding to help with deposits.

-Match them with roommates to share cost in a 'dry house', and have a 'group leader'.

-Offer education on job coaching and help when needed connecting with services.

I found most people are homeless because of a job loss, they got a divorce, an illness, or addiction.

It's really been a cool thing and am proud to be part of it.

PS: ad99, like your site! thank you changing it from the pic to a url so I could find it, but the domain name is kind of 'off' for a coffeecup forum. Talk to Scott or a mod sweetie and I don't know if the forum has the capability, but maybe they can fix it for you. .

Merry Christmas to all. Happy Birthday Baby Jesus. Thank you for laying aside your divine nature to minister to a world so if need of you. Thank you for my salvation and for your patience with us humans who turn more and more to stuff at Christmas and forget that the word Christmas starts with Christ. And a wonderful Hanukkah and thank you to the Jews for Jesus and for the Book.

That said, I'm off to my mom's later today and then back to my winter markets. Business was off this month and I hope for a better year. So Happy New Year, may 2010 is a blessed year for all.
