Well I'm definitely a ditz! I finally found what was causing FireFox to freeze up for a bit at random times -- my pc was running a hardware diagnostic tools system test thing! OMG! The window even stated that my computer might freeze up a bit at times. Geez. Well, there you have it.

Dave,

I had been running that Nielson Online software for at least a month w/no probs so I don't that was the cause. It's running now and all is well:)

Thanks again everyone!

Oh, my computer passed all those tests:) LOL!

Well dang it! Darn. Shoot. Crap.

So I got that stupid pop up window AGAIN:

I've only got FireFox open & Windows Media Player. Sure, I'm listening to some music that might do damage to people's ears (NKOTB - OMG I can't believe I'm giving out this info).

But that Nielson software was NOT running & there isn't any kind of scan going on.

I did do a full system scan w/Norton and found nothing.

Does anyone have any other thoughts on this weird thing?

This is what happens:

I'll be surfing the net - this time I was on FaceBook - and FireFox will freeze up for like 5 - 10 secs, then that window will pop up & I'll click "OK" and continue. But it's totally random. I was on a diff site yesterday when it happened.

I will be more than happy to take screen shots of anything on my pc if anyone needs more info.

OH! I JUST GOT that popup window AGAIN! RUDE!

Just in case you need this info, I'll add a couple of more screen shots:

I should also mention that the only thing that "freezes" is FireFox. I am able to click on the Windows Media Player & it works fine.

This is so confusing.

Sorry to keep bugging you all about this.

Thanks in advance:)

Possibility:

I did a Google search for "bolotoolbar" and found that it's somehow related to Get The Bar website's toolbar - which I have. So I disabled it then uninstalled it.

MAYBE this will solve the prob!

Sorry for being so annoying:(

It's not annoying at all! Most of us have something that messes up at times, and we may need help and patience. Do get back to us if the issue is not solved.

As for the various toolbars: I never install any of them because I have experienced a lot of issues with most of them earlier. In FireFox I have just one that doesn't misbehave (fingers x'ed); the Web Developer.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Inger - thanks:)

I hope you all have a great day!

Are you running Firefox 32 bit on a 64 bit system? Most 32 bit software work fine on 64, but occsaionally issues so arise...

Hey Chad!! How have you been?

Well, I'm running Vista 64 bit & I'm not sure what bit of FireFox I'm using lol. I think it's the most current - if that helps. Here's a screen shot of About FireFox under Help:

I do know that I'm not having that prob any longer - no more popup windows. It was that darn toolbar issue.

Thanks everyone for helping me out:)

Have a great day!
