I have thought about this for a while(pros and cons) about a thread that someone can post an email address(spam bucket) or a link to a contact form so you can request information about their services. I have seen some web sites that are so stunning here, and the site you see is possibly for one of their clients, or no contact form is on the site.

Way back in the old days(about 1 year ago), our sign up email was by default in our user name, but I didn't like that one 'cause I actually got emails(personal box) asking for help with problems and one angry at me because I defended cc on the forum.

Spammers would still not be allowed and could only be used for relevant services pertaining to web design.

Now the forums are just for folks that are registered coffeecup users, does anyone have thoughts on this?

the bots can still get in here to look - posting email addresses would give the same problems you had again....

Umm - there used to be a contact form somewhere with some of us on it though - i'll go see if i can find it ....

.... err nope - looks like its been replaced by the new support page stuffs....

hmmm - wonder if we can convince the CC folk to add us a private messaging system in the forum? :P

That'd do the trick and stop the problem of unwanted emails?

fe pixie, really good idea. PM's would be an excellent on here and also a option on most forums is someone can block or not allow pm's to them. Some of the topics you want to ask are very specific. I am a joomla and drupal freak. I just ask a question on a joomla component and cc software on a flash form thread and I figured it out myself(may have not been the best solution), but I know someone on here that joomla is their area of expertise. A PM would come in handy for that one.

Otherwise, when I post a email on a forum, it's one that I created for just that thread or my general 'spam bucket' email where most bot email will go to spam-- gmail is really good at sorting mail.

add: one more thing- I don't know php that well, but if they did start pm's, it should only come from registered users of cc who purchased. This will prevent forum scraping of user names and mass pm spamming.
