CC Themes - VSD vs. HTML - Post ID...

Hopefully not a devastating dumb question about themes.

I had planned on redoing our site in VSD, I like the simplicity of the program.

However, I've been browsing the theme shop, I am doing such a dramatic redo of the entire site that using a themed template is appealing. I am also using a theme for the shopping cart and want to keep a thread of continuity throughout the site.

The theme I really like is marketed as a theme for the HTML editor. Would this theme work with VSD?

No, it will not.

VSD, HTML Editor, and Form Builder all have corresponding themes to the default Shopping Cart themes. I just found this out yesterday when Tassie corrected me regarding this very question. I guess I have to visit the theme store more often.

I think there are a few that correspond, but numerous times I have noticed themes I liked in one and not the other. Maybe this is changing.

Thanks Eric - this one does not have a corresponding theme.

Okay, here's another question. Can sites be edited in both VSD and HTML Designer?

Only the default SC themes have corresponding themes.

No. However, VSD has an HTML tool that allows you to put html code in certain parts of your site. But, it is pretty limited. My suggestion is to use the html editor, but it comes with a visual editor if you need to use it. But its limitations are you can really only use one or the other, not both at the same time. The problem is most VSD's render its own type of coding. So to combine the two together is very tricky.

Hope this clarified a little.

Gotcha - thank Eric.

I obviously have some more puzzlin' to do while waiting for SCC Pro to drop.

Don't we all.
