I have a new computer. I downloaded my HTML Editor program ok. I setup an FTP account and when I tested it, it said they connected to my FTP server.

When I go to upload a file I click on 'upload' then 'FTM Account' and my account I created. But then it lists another folder titled (root). This never happened before on my old computer. When I click on that folder it tells me I have to have a file open in order to upload it. So I opened the file that I worked on in 'My Computer' list and then click on this root file.

A box comes up (upload to server) and says but it only goes about half way.

On my old computer when I clicked on my FTM Account it gave me a screen that I could pick the files I wanted to upload.

What is wrong?

If you are using HTML Editor to upload (or publish) your site, then you do not pick the files. Whatever 'site' you are working on, that is what will get published. The 'root' folder you see simply means that it will upload to the root directory of the Server you have configured. If you go to 'File/Upload to Server/FTP Account/Add or Edit Server off the menu, you will be able to configure your server, and test its connection.

If you are trying to upload specific files, or publish your site after saving it to your hard drive, then use CoffeeCups DirectFTP.

Do you know something you've taught me something there, I just use Filezilla but I'll give that a go, only had the Editor for a million years

And never knew the editor had built in FTP? Wow! Have fun with it!

I knew it had and FTP built in but dare I admit this....er OK then I didn't know how to use it. I have always gone "My Websites" and it doesn't show up when you got to FTP, so I've always just used inbuilt server one's or Filezilla, but a new toy to play with

Hey G, a lot of Coffeecups software has a built in ftp.

I know that, seemed like G'kar was missing something. But he's on track now.

It is strange how many times we can miss things even in programs we use all the time, I think it probably has something to do with the way we work as individuals.

I did configure my server and tested it. It said it was able to connect to the FTP server.

I don't want to upload just the file I am working on. Sometimes I would like to pick several files to upload. Where do I find CoffeeCups Direct FTP?
