HTML Editor a useless html editor

Past October I bought this program an began using it in my Dell XP SP3 notebook.

Before finishing my first page I discovered a bug where the tab stops positions are not honored. Eg.: you press tab, and the cursor goes to the 14 or 23 column, instead of what you indicated in the configuration panels.

After 14 messages up and down with the support technicians, which includes sending video sessions of what happens in my case, their solution was :

"Since we can't duplicate the problem here under other circumstances, there's not really anything we can do at this time. I've passed the description of the problem to our developers, but we don't have any immediate solutions for you."

After all those months, I am still waiting that the support team sends me a message with a solution, that permits me to begin to use my copy of HTML editor.

I do not know what equivalence is in months of the word patience, but, since I can not ask for a return of the money paid, I am using other free html editor that is perfect in my case, and of course the tab stops are working as expected.

I do not recommend at all this program to any of my colleagues.

I can only thinkl you are using an old version of the html editor or not set the tab options correctly.
They work fine or me.
Oh yes I use a dell laptop Windows XP SP3.
If you go to tools preferences
click the customisation tab then clck modify options
in tab columns set your tabs eg 10 20 30 40
press Ok thet work!!!

Thanks for your reponse Dave,

Needless to say, as mentioned above, that after 14 messages up and down, the support technician made sure that this was not the case, asking me to verify the preferences, and asking to send him a video capture session of what happens..

If you are a programmer, you know that some bugs are difficult to catch because they does not happen allways, but this is not my case. This is a solid bug. It happens allways I open the HTML Editor.

I would like to use this nice and powerful editor, but in perspective, I got the worst of both worlds: I can not use it, and also I have lost the money paid for it.

Hi
Have you tried to download the latest version.
Remove your current version
Clean your registry
and then instal your new download version.
Latest version should be build 305

I would have to agree with Dave here, I've been using this editor for a very long time, and I don't have this problem you're experiencing either pss. Tabs work as they should for me, just checked it to make sure even and nothing seems to be wrong there on mine. I would also suggest you do what Dave said, try uninstalling and reinstalling to be sure it installed correctly, and be sure to clean the registry so that nothing remains to mess it up. Let us know how that goes :)

Please explain to me what tab columns and tab stop does.

I set tab columns to 10 20 30 40 and left the tab stop at the default 4 and my tab key tabs erratic, not evenly spaced.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Hi Tom
Leave your tabs column 10 20 30 40
change default from 4 to 1 and tab key jumps 10 20 etc

Thanks, that works for me. What does the value under tab stop do if I change it? Having two seperate fields to manage the stop is confusing me. :D

Hi Tom
Its a bit confusing but the way I read the options you only use one of the two options.
If you leave tab columns blank and set default to say 5 the tab jumps 5 10 15 20 etc.
If you set default to 1 you can have specific tab settings using tab columns
eg 10 14 19 21

I know on the support side, we have tried pretty much everything we can, but simply cannot replicate the issue. Short of formatting that system, we are pretty much stumped too.
