How to Download Existing Site using...
I have an existing site that I created using Dreamweaver and want to download it onto a laptop and use Coffee Cup editor to update it. I cannot find any way of downloading these files onto my hard drive, like I do in Dreamweaver (Get/Put) . Can anyone help?
Alan,
You should use an FTP program to download the website files. CoffeeCup has Direct FTP, as well as an FTP program listed in their free programs. You can also use any other FTP program to download the files.
Once you have the files on your laptop, you can use the HTML Editor to edit your files. The HTML Editor also has a built in FTP program, but it is not as efficient as using a dedicated FTP program.
When you setup your FTP connection, you will need to use your domain name (mysite.com), your FTP user name (provided by your host), and your FTP password.

If you still have the local folder DW was using, you can just copy that to your laptop using a flash-drive or first Get the entire site using DW's ftp.
Thanks Bill!

Scam sites like Site Build It [sitesell.com] don't allow FTP so this suggestion is a none starter.
