It's been since June and no fix for PHP yet. That bothers me a little. If I could make a suggestion, have a look at the Crimson Editor code as they seem to have proper color coding and highlighting of PHP code blocks.

Our programmers are aware of the issue, but it just keeps falling download the priority list so we can address larger issues. The second update to the HTML Editor will be coming later this year and we will be concentrating on all the little annoyances.
