This isn't funny, how can something be called an editor if you cannot select what you want to edit.

In Visual editor (NO NOT PREVIEW - Visual EDITOR) you cannot highlight text to edit it! You can only do this in code view. May as well use notepad:(

I meant to add that even after UTF-8 thing  This does not work. This is with a deafuat page with just one word of text added. Dumb eh?

The most common reason I've seen this happen is if you're mixing divs and tables for your layouts. If you can attach the HTML file you're working with, or provide a link to the page online, I can look at the code to see what's causing it.

I don't usually use the "Visual Editor" tab, but I fired it up just now (with the latest edition) and tried what you described Aaron. It works fine. If you select the text tool it puts a block of text up that says "your text here". If you click that text and hold it, you can move it anywhere on the screen. If you click the text, a hashed lined box should appear. With that box around the text you wish to work with, you can click and drag and your text will be selected. Ready to replace, delete, change to bold, italics, or whatever.

Doesnt work for me. I can make a new page, go to the VE tab and there is a flashing cursor. Type something, whatever you type you cannot select.

Aaron, or Jim, Have you updated to the latest version of the HTML Editor? If you have, and if you installed it on top of an older version, maybe it would be an idea to uninstall it, reboot your machine, download a new copy of the software and install again. A lot of work perhaps, but it may be worth it.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hi Inger/Aaron/Jim
Just tested this problem with html latest build 305.
I have not come across it before as I use html code editor only
But there is a problem here.
I created a new blank page typed text in VE then tried to select the text to change to bold.
You cannot select the text.
I suggest you open a support ticket Jim/Aaron

I dunno, that works on my W7 64-bit as well. :/ I tried both mouse selecting, and shift key + arrows, then did a ctrl-b and ctrl-i.

Open a support ticket as suggested, and please keep us updated when it gets figured out.
