I just cannot select a block of text when in Visual designer. Highlighting text to make it bold or a different colour is impossible. Any idea what might be wrong? Thanks

Hi,
Please make sure you are not in Preview mode. Then select the text symbol tool from the left and double click the text (or right click on the text and choose 'show properties windows' and then 'object properties'.) This will launch the 'object properties' window.

Highlight the text (a red box will appear around it indicating that it is editable) and adjust the settings in the 'object properties' window to your desired settings (i.e bold ect).
Hope this helps!

Jim,

Kimberly has a good suggestion to make sure you have not selected the Preview tab. Have you activated the Visual Editor tab?

What version of the HTML Editor are you using?

The latest version works for me. I highlighted the text and clicked on the bold B just below the tabs.

What OS do you have?

I could not highlite any text. I went into the code editor tag and used the BOLD button to bold the text that I wanted to be BOLD. It could highlite in here and when I returned to the Visual Editor tag the bold was then working for any thing as it should have been.
Hope this helps!

The most common reason I've seen this happen is if you're mixing divs and tables for your layouts. If you can attach the HTML file you're working with, or provide a link to the page online, I can look at the code to see what's causing it.

Try this:

1) Opening your page in the HTML Editor and click Tools> Code Cleaner..

2) Click the Document tab, select UTF-8 for Character Encoding and click ok
