Hi;
For pictures on my website (http://bob@hallsworth.eu) I have folders with individual html pages into which to load jpg files.
So I have folders for groups of pictures - Birds / Steam / Clouds/ whatever.
When I add a new group, I would like to just re-use html files from another group and would like to be able to edit all of them at once.

So a file at http://www.btinternet.com/~bob.hallswor … rrows.html
has a line - <img src="steam_001.jpg" alt="steam1" border="0" width="536" height="800">
There are also, in separate files, steam_002, steam_003, etc.

I would like to be able to copy say 20 html files and then do a "replace" in all of them - Say replace "steam" with "heroes".

Any ideas, please?

Thanks, Bob :-)

Hi Bob,

If you are using the CC HTML Editor, you can open as many html pages as you like. Under "Edit", select "Replace". You will have a find box, put your "steam", (without the quotation marks). In the replace box, put "heroes" (no quote marks). Then make sure to put the dot in "all open documents".
If every file that you want replaced is inside the same folder, you can choose that folder on your computer and have CC Editor do the find/replace in the entire folder.

Do use caution. Every occurence of that selected word will be changed, including if it is uses in a sentence, or as part of coding, or in the title of the web page itself, so make sure your word replacement isn't going to make other parts of the page read funny.

Best practices would dictate that you make a backup of your web page files before making changes to an entire folder, just to be safe.

Hi Cliff;
Thank you very much - I had expected to find a solution outside Coffee Cup. I am, of course, delighted to find it so close to hand :-)
Regards
Bob
