I would try something like this:

http://www.coffeecuphelp.com/inger/help/vsdftp.jpg

Both the server address, username and password should have been given to you by GoDaddy. If 'usdeafsoccer.com' doesn't work, try 'www.usdeafsoccer.com'.
And if 'public_html' doesn't work, try blank, 'www' or 'www_docs'.

It will never be index_html. Index.html is the name of the first page you have created in VSD.

If you still are not able to connect, try an independent FTP client like i.e. Filezilla (free, google for it) and check if you are able to connect using that. If you are, then check what settings you used and use the same in VSD. If you are not able to connect, you'll have to contact GoDaddy and ask for a more detailed instruction.

As to who is working/helping during weekends, those who have stepped in here are not CC staff. We are just voluntary helpers. :)

Edit: Sorry I used 'deafsoccer', not 'usdeafsoccer' in my sample pic.

hI Terri,
My exact sign in In VSD is under settings, then down to ftp settings, this is where I would put in my info. which by the way is this.
ftp*******ylllek.com
user******brucerkelly
pass******master
WWW******* left blank

this is how I sign into my Godaddy account.
Godaddy should have provided you with the nessesary info needed. If you not sure you may wish to contact them just to verify what you have.
Now as I have more than 1 website I'm using, if you do also, when test the connection make sure that the window that opens has the website chosen at the top.

where my name is you would put whatever yours is to sign into the file manager, not the account!
BTW the "MySites" was from the direct ftp program.... but the same info is used.
Ms.Inger suggested filezilla which is a good ftp program to try. here's the link to download it, try it and let us know please.

Hi USdeafsoccer,

When I click on the URL you gave above, www.usdeafsoccer.com , I got the address field showing this: http://www.usdeafsoccer.com/USA%20Deaf% … 0Page.html (if you can't see the full url, click on 'Quote', then you'll see it).

So obviouly you have a subfolder on your server named USA Deaf Soccer, and in that folder should be a file named Home Page.html.

I'm not sure if this helps, but if you could name the folder usadeafsoccer (one word and no upper case) and the file homepage.html or index.html, you may be lucky. It's always better to avoid spaces and capitals in file names on the web. Alternatively you can name the folder usa_deaf_soccer, using underscore instead of spaces, but still without capitals.

This is what I am putting in the internet connection fields

ftp usdeafsoccer.com
user (I called GoDaddy and they gave me this info)
password (I reset this a couple of days ago)
www blank

What I am now getting is "host not found"

I downloaded a fix for a problem that Coffee Cup had found with the new upgrade.

I still get "host not found"

Just to let anybody who has been following this discussion know that we have solved the problem. It took a bit of mailing, and we found that part of the site had been created with some other app. than VSD. It was a frameset site. Anyway, the page is now uploaded to it's proper location using Direct FTP.
