For three days I've been trying to upload this website. It was working fine untill I added 8 sermons to the 4 already in the jukebox. Then it does this "error occured during uploading". I have deleted files, have used the upload in VSD and tried the direct FTP, uploaded the sermons from the jukebox program and am at a loss as to what to do to make it work. I just installed hte new VSD that cane out on the 28th and was thinking maybe I should go back to an older version. Where have i gone wrong. I hope someone can help me. Am using VSD, ie7, xp professional sp2. The website is http://www.uuchesterriver.org. Perhaps I should delete the whole jukebox and start over. ???

Thanks, Sarah

I see that the script for the juke box is trying to call a file called 'myjukebox_files.swf', and when I search for a file by that name, I don't find any. Instead I tried searching for http://www.uuchesterriver.org/myjukebox.swf and got the jukebox with the sermons. I started one of them, and they worked.

The 'myjukebox_files' is a folder created by VSD containing any sound and graphic files pertaining to the project. You don't have to worry about that folder, it is obviously uploaded to the correct location.

What you have to do is to edit the path to the swf file, then you should be all set.

Thanks Inger. So, I go to settings, add files and add that swf file?? I feel so stupid and am not sure what I am doing. Because the uploading stopped somewhere in the middle, the whole website looks really wierd. I hope this will fix the whole thing. Thanks.

Hi Sarah,
I believe when you added your 4 sermons, you could have uploaded them with the jukebox program, it might have saved you some problems. But if you couldn't because the built-in ftp was inop, then with direct ftp I would have tried uploading the 4 sermons and the xml file if I hadn't changed anything else. In the meantime Sarah, there are a couple images distorted or missing and I would suggest to you to use D-ftp to upload the whole site to fix it. I'm hoping that will do. what server are you on again please. Thanks!

Hi Bruce, Thank you for your info. Well, I went back and added files, uploaded the sermons from the jukebox program, made a new box and put in the new html and just tried to upload through VSD. Again I get the "error occured" after a sermon "Dr. mp3" Am not sure what that is. Had previously tried the direct ftp and that also stopped with the error message. Am using 1&1. It has always worked before except one time when this occured and I used direct ftp, deleted the files on the server and reuploaded, but even that doesn't seem to work.

At this point i'm ready to throw it all away and get a job as a cleaning lady. Well, maybe not, but, I guess you can tell I'm very frustrated.

Thank you for your help. Sarah

Think maybe i'll delete that jukebox and make a new one and start over. Don't know what else to do.

Hee hee. I think I could learn how to do windows, it's just I hate seeing those messy swirls. Well, I have never used filezilla, but I guess I could give it a try. Was thinking maybe I could delete the whole jukebox, upload the site so the wierd parts would be fixed and then redo the jukebox. Don't know. Do they have padded cells for crazed junkie web designers?

Instead of deleting the jukebox, you could delete the html bits for it that was inserted into the page in VSD. Then redo that part, then the link is still pointing to the folder I mentioned earlier, and not to the actual swf file.

And make sure you've got the latest version of VSD (currently 5.8.5), because one of the previous versions had an upload issue.

thanks Inger, I tried that also and it doesn't seem to change. I think maybe I messed up the whole thing when I first tried to upload the whole thing. I found some wav. files trying to upload, don't know how they got in there. I had converted DVF files to WAV files and then converted that to MP3 files. maybe the WAv files messed it up. Then I tried to remove the wav files and must have removed the swf file by mistake. tried to add it back in, but guess i messed everything up. Thanks for your thoughts. I am so beside myself that I have given up on trying to fix it. Just want to start over and see if that works. If it doesn't, well... I have to think positively. Thanks again. I know that you and Bruce are always right on about fixes and I do so appreciate your help. Sarah

So, I deleted the jukebox, redid it and now it's even worse than before. In preview there is just a white box displaying. I added everything I could think of that might help, reinstalled adobe flash and it still doesn't work. I uploaded the jukebox files from the web jukebox and copied and pasted the files from webjukebox in the html box on page 20. it is still not working. Any more ideas? thank you so much for your help.
