Hello again, Hopefully someone can help me. I have tried all means that I know to upload my website, http://www.uuchesterriver.org and it won't work. It looks fine in preview, but when I try to upload in VSD it says, error occured during uploading, and when I try Direct FTP it keeps disconnecting. Then I reconnect and it still keeps disconnecting. I am at a total loss. Any help appreciated. Thanks Sarah

Sarah In direct ftp does it still disconnect even with the stay connected checked?
doesn't 1&1 use the /httpdoc as the WWW folder?
how far does it go before stopping?

Hi Bruce. Yep that's what happened when I tried to upload the site in VSD the first time. Total Mess. I made sure the "stay connected button was checked and I unblocked windows firewall. I don't know about 1&1. I don't really understand what to do there. sorry. Thanks for helping me. Sarah

Direct FTP only goes a short way before disconnecting and VSD goes to being almost finished when it displays the error occured.

I've been using 1&1 for this website for over a year and it's always worked pretty good. I had the passive checked, mand then I unchecked it. At the moment I am trying again to upload the site with Dirct Ftp.
It just disconnected again and when I reconnected it said "Opening ASCllmode data connection and many many "200 NOOP command successful".
Before I started the upload I checked auto.

Sarah, the jukebox with the sermons is working fine!

But I see some of the other contents are missing. So leave the jukebox where it is!

i'm not sure what to tell you except I would try Filezilla, or another FTP just to see if Direct Ftp has gas. In VSD and when uploading it doesn't stop on any paticular object when the error shows? Or when the error shows at that point what is the file uploading at the time? mine usually stops on pdf's and or swf's sometimes.and the way I fix that was clearing the duplicates in the website folder. but I don't have have the items you have.

Thanks Inger, I guess because I uploaded the jukebox from the jukebox program that it made it ok. so, now i'm trying to upload the website because I made some other changes that need to be uploaded. and when i tried to upload the site it changed the other pages. now i'm trying to upload the site to fix the words and other pages. but, it won't stay connected and upload.

Thanks Bruce. I downloaded Filezilla and will try to use it. I had put in the logon and password, but it said my password was wrong. guess i'll have to play with it. If you have a handy tutorial on it that would be great.

Thanks Inger, I think maybe i'll try to use DirectFtp or Filezilla and only upload the pages that are wonky and see if I can do that. Maybe.
