To backup your Direct FTP database, you simply need to copy the file to a secure location. Once you do that, you can then install Direct FTP on the new system and copy the file back.  Here is where the database is located:

Step 1:

Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data\SharedSettings.ccs

Windows 8/7 & Vista: C:\Users[username]AppData\Roaming\SharedSettings.ccs

Step 2:

Right-click the Shared Settings file and select Copy .

Step 3:

Paste the Shared Settings file into an external data storage device (thumb drive, external hard drive, CD-ROM, etc.) by opening the data storage device, right-clicking the background, and selecting Paste.
