A Few Concerns before I Buy VSD

I have being playing with the demo version of Visual Site Designer for a few weeks and I love it. I am hesitating buying it now for two main reasons: I need to be able to create drop down menus, and it seems VSD can't do this?? My other concern is the Mouse -Over does not work in my Internet Explorer. I have the latest upgrade for Windows XP Professional. Are we going to see an update to create drop down menus soon? And the Mouse-Over problem?

I deleted one of the two identical threads that you set up. I assume that this was an accident, but please take care to not double up on the same questions.
Many thanks,

kdf,

I don't think there will be any built-in menu builder in VSD that can create dropdowns. In CC HTML Editor there is, and rumours have it that this menu builder will be launched as a standalone app, but I don't know when. But a lot of people buy both VSD and the Editor, because at some point you will want to insert something that needs a bit of code into VSD, and that is where the Editor comes in handy.

As to the mouseover, which version of IE do you have? There is normally no problem with mouseovers, so maybe you have an outdated browser, or you are possibly not creating them the right way.

The are many html dropdown menu templates available if you google for them.
You can add them into VSD via the html tool.

Mouseover works, do you have a link we can look at to see if we can determine what is or what is not happening?

And, Inger is right in advising getting both VSD - to get you started and the HTML Editor when you want to have better control of your sight. I use both.

I wish to construct a website with company and product information pages and a shopping cart. Do I need Visual Design or Shopping Cart Design (or both)?

First off... If you are wanting a shopping cart, you'll NEED Shopping Cart Creator. SCD is for making the cart pretty, SCC makes it functional.

Secondly, I'd download (and actually use) the trial versions of both SCC (PRO) and VSD. Heck, while you're at it, download SCD (PRO) and kick the tires there too...

You "might" find that with SCC/SCD PRO's you'll be happy with the results and not "NEED" VSD (at least for the time being).
