I am using Shopping Cart Creator to build/maintain a storefront with several downloadable products.
I have the products in separate shareable folders elsewhere on the net.

When a customer purchases one of the downloadable products, it is necessary to send them the link to the product. Currently, it looks like one has to do this manually, upon getting an e-mail that the customer has purchased something. This could be an issue if I am away for a few days, etc.

Is it possible to automate this so that the customer is automatically e-mailed a link to the downloadable product when they make a purchase?

It would be nice to be able to write custom functionality to do this. Is there anything available (an API?) so that on a completed purchase event, the software would automatically send an e-mail to the customer containing the specific link(s) to the product(s) they purchased? This would get the manual step out of the process.
