If doing a page, Redirect field: ^contact\.html$, info from manual, works fine.

But what I want to do is redirect www.old.co.uk to www.new.co.uk so what would i put in redirect box?

Also want to redirect new.co.uk (no www) to www.new.co.uk.

Hiya Keith,

Are you doing this manually in a file or are you using the cPanel for this? If you have access to the cPanel for your server, that's the fastest and easiest way to do small changes and additions to your htaccess file.

Usually there is a selection to do with or without the www and I usually choose that one. I tend to also do most variations too just in case something gets lost so I usually do:

http://www.sitenamehere.com
http://sitenamehere.com
http://sitenamehere.com/*

I'm not sure if that all needs to be done, but that's what I do.

If' you're doing this in the file itself, then someone else will need to chime in here as I'm not good with the htaccess file editing yet. Jo Ann

Thanks Jo

I am doing this in Website Acess Manager

Advanced Settings - Server Config - Redirection.

Manual tells you how to do file but not whole site.

At present I have done this manually by adding:

redirect 301 / http://www.new.com/

But can it be done in WAM?

I add a meta tag to the 'oldsite', like this:

<meta http-equiv="refresh"
content="1;url=http://www.newsite.com/"> Ha en riktig god dag!

I'll have to leave it to someone that uses WAM for that as I haven't played with any of the redirect options in the program as of yet. I'm sure I will eventually, but right now cPanel is just easier for me. Hopefully someone else has some ideas on it. Jo Ann

Jo

At present doing them by hand one site ok but same file on another would not work.

Hosting now changing to another server - Mod_Rewrite was no on.

Once I have them working I will try and work out how to do it in WAM.
