how to...?

I need some good ideas of how to make a more dynamic form...

One example - some countries does Not have ZIP codes, - but for all other countries I need the ZIP to be a mandatory field. Is there a way to somehow disable a field based upon the selection in a drop-down list?

Another example:
If a form include a check-box element, and IF user check it, then additional fields are required, - but I only want them visible IF and When that check-box is ticked - and the extra fields to disappear when un-ticked..

Anyone done enough hacking around the Form Builder to know easy ways to do it?

Of course I can add all those things manually after the main form is created with the FormBuilder - but - it would be great if there was some easier way to do it...

and Scott - any news about PlayThru ? ;-)

Hiya Morten,

Right now there are no conditional settings for fields so I guess the answer to your question is no you cannot set that up right now to require from some people and not others, or to show other fields when someone chooses specific selections etc.... yet.

Rumor has it that this is something in the works, but I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

yea - gotta DIV it up and get some javascripts in place...

Sometimes I wish we could get some non-destructive Form Builder,... so when I modify a form, adding my own sections, that it would be left alone when I use FormBuilder to modify again..

ok I'll bite.... "Tjobing"? lol

And yes I agree, it would be totally awesome if the programs were able to import your changes into the files they use to save our work. That's where the issue lies unfortunately for many of the programs with CoffeeCup. They are definitely great programs, but they lack in the "editing outside the program" area since many of them are needing to do that. Web Form Builder and the Calendar program come to mind specifically where you have the ability to edit the code to do what you want now that they are HTML/CSS, and in fact are encouraged to do so to get your results, but those chanages are not recognized within the program for the most part so you're pretty much left with the same situation there as when they were Flash.

Hopefully the future will give a way to import those changes. I'm sure it's a lot more difficult than my mind is seeing it hehe. I'm thinking just import the files to replace what's in the saved program file, but then what do I know about programming? Nil :P

The WFB is an information gathering device with the ability to store and send emails. However that data ia readily available. At present if it is desired to go back to the form the data is cleared. It is possible but with a lot of mods.
One thing I mentioned once before is create the form in WFB and take a screenshot. load that into the Editor and insert the inputs in the right places. you would have to submit to a php file to do the checks but there are many examples of the coding required available.
WFB makes beautiful looking forms and used this way you would not know which is which. Having said that it is best to see in what way it can do what you want.
